Kinsey helped reverse her local hospital's VBAC ban and recently wrote a book called Variations of Normal featuring birth stories from over a hundred other moms. Surrender- Miriam Webster dictionary defines surrender as :to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand. I could not find a more accurate word to describe this past 9 months with you. It did start with my daughter’s birth. You can go back to episode 47 to hear more about that. I want you to hang in there with me because I don’t believe this word is just for me. I believe that many women, especially those who like to think they are in more control then they really are, will benefit from today’s episode. Now I will say that learning this word has been not fun, nor easy. I would not describe the experiences that lead me to yield to Jesus as pleasant or a walk in the park. What I will say is when you let go of what ever you think you’re in control of and allow the Lord to lead you… well friend… it will be an adventure.

As most of you know there has been a shift that has happened recently in the podcast. I am not only talking about God’s good design for birth but also his beautiful design for marriage and motherhood.
The deeper you go the more you will find how everything about our femininity is so connected. Birth is such a beautiful thing but it’s not just a physical event. It is also emotional and spiritual. I believe that our Creator God designed birth so well! Carrying a child and birthing that child is a wonderful event in a woman’s life.
Today on the show I interviewed Bethany Beal from Girl Defined Ministries. Bethany is head-over-heels in love with her best friend and husband, David, and is the super proud mommy of Davey Jr. She is the cofounder of Girl Defined Ministries, author of several books including Shine Bright: 60 Days to Becoming a Girl Defined by God, and is passionate about spreading the truth of biblical womanhood. To her family and close friends, she is simply a tall blonde Texan who is obsessed with iced lattes and can’t get enough of her sweet little family. I was so excited to have her on the show to take a deeper dive into what Biblical womanhood looks like and how feminism has creeped into homes with out us even really knowing. She shares her Homebirth story and we just had a great time!

Today I am sharing something I’ve been ruminating on for a while. Truth vs lies. How to we navigate it in not just birth but our ever day lives. The only way we can start talk about lies is if we believe that there is absolute truth. With out truth there would be no lies. We could all go on in our blissfully ignorant ways and what outcome will that get us? Well I can tell you from a birth perspective it doesn’t get you far. Very rarely does being blissfully ignorant get you the holy transformative experience you’re looking for. Before we get into the episode
I want to remind you that one of the most important things you can do while preparing for your birth is have a supportive system around you. No matter where you’re planning on having your baby knowing your options, addressing fears and inviting Holy Spirit into your decision making is so important at.
