Ep 212//Finding the Silver Linings in a Difficult Postpartum with Jess Hodge

Today’s episode is such a beautiful testament to both the power of birth and the faithfulness of God—even when things don’t go as expected. I’m sitting down with Jess Hodge, a stay-at-home mama with a heart for motherhood, nutrition, and whole-family wellness. After having three hospital births, Jess chose to trust her instincts and plan a homebirth for her fourth baby.
And the birth? It was everything she hoped for—simple, straightforward, and Spirit-led. But just four days later, Jess found herself in the ER with extreme pain, leading to a diagnosis I had never heard of getting this severe postpartum. What followed was months of not being able to walk, relying on others for everything—yet somehow, she still calls this her best postpartum experience yet.

Ep 205//3 Things I Did to Overcome the "Small Pelvis" Diagnosis and Have 3 Redeeming and Faith-filled Homebirths

My OBGYN told me: “your pelvis is too small, you’ll always have to have a C section.”
 
I told her: That isn’t going to be my future birth story.
 
Now, 9 years later, I’ve had 3 blissful homebirths, all WITHOUT a scalpel knife coming anywhere near my pregnant belly.
 
In today’s episode I’m going to share how I burned the advice my OBGYN gave me to the ground & went on to birth my babies in the comfort of my own home despite being told my “pelvis is too small.”
