Ep 183//Stillbirth to Homebirth with Sara

Is the worst case scenario of having a homebirth constantly on your mind? Wouldn’t you be better off at the hospital “just in case?” I hear you. This fear of not doing all that you can do to keep your baby safe is a main reason why women are still birthing in the hospital.
 
My guests story today will give you a whole new perspective. This is a trigger warning. We do talk about death. We also talk about the promise and hope we have because of Jesus! It was a powerful interview and I know you’re going to love it!
 
My guest today is Sara she is a wife, mother, certified Integrative Health Practitioner & the founder of the Rooted + Restored wellness practice. When her first pregnancy ended in a full term stillbirth and she was consistently let down by conventional healthcare, she pursued a career in healthcare administration hoping to find a way to create change — but as time passed, there we only more questions, fewer answers, and so much frustration. After seeking alternative approaches and realizing how far we have come from our physiological design, she knew when she got unexpectedly pregnant that it would be a different birth story, a redemptive and empowered one.

Ep 181//Postpartum Body Image Through a Biblical Perspective

I’m almost 2 years out from having my youngest baby. It’s crazy to think typically I’m pregnant when my babies turn 2. As I journey with first time homebirth moms I get to see them through so many stages from morning sickness, to joy in the second trimester and nerves in the third. But as a homebirth coach I am often working with women through their 4th trimester as well which is the first 3 months after a baby is born. 
 
Big changes happen in the 4th trimester and one thing many women struggle with is how much their body has changed and looks different than before. It can be a huge adjustment and today I want to talk through some mindset shifts and practical ways I was able to navigate this with each of my babies in a Biblical perspective.
