You want your dream homebirth! The only way you feel like you can get this birth is by having a midwife who is certified, who knows what she's doing, who has hundreds of births of experience. 
 
What you realize is that your options are limited. There aren't many women who you resonate with, who has what you're looking for and that you trust. 
 
What do you do? I fully believe that God will give you exactly what you need for the birth He has planned for you. 
 
Don't be grasping for things that aren't for you! If there are these red flags in your midwife I would be highly considering if you need her or just want her.

Well the peaceful homebirth retreat was this past weekend and the best word I have for it is magical. It was such a beautiful time to experience our femininity, learn about birth, connect with one another, rest and also have lots of fun! My heart is so filled up but honestly I am physically exhausted and napping every day since then! Community is worth it.
 
Seeking knowledge and wisdom from those who’ve gone before you is worth it! I was so proud of all of the women who came, put themselves out there, felt the emotions, invested their time, money and energy into the retreat. There was so much fruit that came from this!

Ep 168//First Time Mom Homebirth Story | "This was all I knew!"

I love a good birth story and this one is so sweet! If I had a quarter for anytime I heard a first time mom say she’s going to birth at a birth center or hospital for the first one “just in case.” There is no “test run” in your childbaring years. Every birth is so different and deserving of love, care and respect. Each birth is different and each birth matters. My “test run” birth with my first baby which ended in a c-section, obviously set me up with a deficit in future births.  And for 30% of women birthing in a hospital it’s also setting them up with a deficit as well. I’m seeing a movement of first time moms, like my guest today, make empowered and faithfilled decisions to birth at home and it makes me so excited! You are apart of the movement to make homebirth the FIRST option in our country! Changing cultural norms takes time but it starts with you and your family. 
Let me introduce my guest to you all today: Olivia and her husband, CJ, had their first baby, Zara, in December of 2023, finding out she was pregnant shortly after their wedding and move to Nebraska. Olivia now stays home with Zara while still dabbling in her previous career as a journalist by freelancing from home. From the moment the pregnancy test read positive, Olivia dove into all things pregnancy and birth be has become a birth enthusiast — talking about homebirth to anyone who will listen.
